Catholic Faith

The Catholic faith and identity is strong at St. Matthew Catholic School. Our students gather each morning to start the day in prayer in the school halls, to acknowledge birthdays and accomplishments, and pray for those in need. This is a wonderful time to connect as a school and start the day off in God's presence.
Each grade receives instruction in the Catholic faith and classes take turns each week preparing the liturgy for the weekly school mass, typically held on Thursday mornings. The school prepares special mass celebrations for All Saints day, May Crowning, First Communion, and 8th grade graduation. Sacramental preparation, while run by the parish ministries, is supplemented by in-classroom parallel studies. Students also have the opportunity for individual Reconciliation twice yearly during the Advent and Lenten seasons and share in the tradition of Adoration.
