Student services

In addtion to a quality education, St. Matthew Catholic School offers the following services to students and their families.

Hot Lunch Program

St. Matthew Catholic School offers nutritious hot lunches through our Hot Lunch Program.  We participate in the National School Lunch program and follow national guidelines for student nutrition.  Students pre-order lunches on a monthly basis.  Our service provider for our school lunch program is Fresh 'n Local Foods.

Bus Service

St. Matthew students in grades K-8th who live in the Hillsboro School District attendance boundaries have access to bus transportation most afternoons.  Bus service in provided by the Hillsboro School District and is only available on days Hillsboro Public Schools are in session.  For more information on how bus service works, please contact the school office at 503-648-2512.

Before and After School Care

Viking Club is St. Matthew School's before and after school care program.  The program exists to serve our families with quality childcare in a safe, fun, and Christian environment.  Viking Club is a state certified daycare and therefore is required to follow specific rules regarding adult to student ratios.

Student Counseling

Our school counseling program is designed  to promote and support the academic, personal, and social development of all students. Our counselor works with individual students, offering a wide range of support in areas that includes social skills, personal issues, social and emotional issues, stress management, academic and study skills and support, 8th grade transition to high school, friendship issues, self-esteem, and short and long term goal setting.

Medication Administration

While medication can be administrered at school by school staff, it is preferable that medication be given at home by a student's parent.  Doses should be scheduled before school or after school if at all possible. Only medication that is medically necessary for the student to remain in school will be administered.  Homeopathic medications or vitamins will not be administered.
