Students Serve God's Kingdom at St. Matthew

October 09, 2019
By Heather Brower

During religion class last week, while identifying ways they can serve God’s kingdom, the fourth grade class at St. Matthew Catholic School decided that they could serve God right then and there by doing a campus trash sweep.

The students immediately walked out to the field near the playground and began to look for litter. The children soon filled several bags with garbage, and were very proud of their work!  "It was a quick and easy way to fit a service project into the day, and care for what God has given us," said Fourth Grade Teacher Meghan Townsend.

We are very proud of how our St. Matthew students humbly serve God and one another with service projects like this one! Please visit the calendar section of our Web site to learn about upcoming school events and additional service opportunities.
